"This was our second stay at Parrot Nest Lodge and we came back because we loved it so much the first time. Last time it was a romantic stay in one of the tree houses for the two of us, this time round it was to share it with our teenage children who absolutely loved it too. The whole place was just as we remembered which is what natural rainforest should be! The cabins and treehouses are nicely decorated, comfortable and well maintained but more important is the wonderful atmosphere the hosts have created. The lush jungle between the cabins is full of wonderful tropical plants and flowers, the river at the end of the lawn is lovely to swim in, the owners are super helpful, friendly and welcoming and the food is fantastic. We all loved the delicious breakfasts and dinners, eaten with the other guests round communal tables on the open porch listening to stories of each others' adventures with jungle and river sounds in the background, magical. Like another recent reviewer, our kids fell totally in love with the puppies too. Thank you Marcus and Theo for keeping such a wonderful place so magical, we hope to come back again one day for a third visit! " 2018 Trip Advisor
Cabin in the woods
"We loved the place! It’s amazing for spotting colorful animals like Toucans, Woodpeckers, Iguanas and the funny rat-rabbits! You can have a great lazy time in the hammocks, a chilled swim in the surrounding river, play with the friendly dogs or use the free tubes. It’s easy to spend some days here and have a nice break in the jungle from the traveling hustle. Marcus and Theo are great hosts too and the food is really tasty. So just come over and have a relaxed stop here before heading to Guatemala." 2019 Trip Advisor
"This is such a hidden gem. We wished we could have stayed more than one night. So many thoughtful details. We loved our dinner and breakfast!" 2018 Airbnb traveller
Very relaxed vibe in amazing jungle river location
"Theo and Markus were great hosts and made our entire group feel right at home. The beautiful location, delicious breakfasts & dinners, free river tubing, friendly doggies, and honor system beer fridge were unforgettable and something that we all still miss. The Parrot Nest was definitely one of the major highlights of our trip." 2019 Trip Advisor
"I can't say enough good things about our stay at Parrot's Nest. The rooms, food and common area were great and Theo was the best host I've ever come across in all my travels. I could not have asked for more! Highly recommended!" 2019 Trip Advisor
"Parrot nest is an unforgettable and beautiful place to stay while visiting the pyramids and caves of Belize. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and uplifting. The cabins are basic and that keeps the price low but there was nothing more that I would want or need. The food was delicious and healthy. The family were lovely to speak with and helpful in every way. The river views and grounds will inspire anyone with a heartbeat. We rented a car from Belize City and drove...keep in mind their road is slightly rocky for about 1/ 4 mile if you drive in." 2018 Trip Advisor
"This was our third time staying at the Parrot's Nest. As always, our stay was amazing! Theo and Marcus are warm and welcoming hosts. They go out of their way to accommodate you and are genuinely awesome people that you can share a nice conversation with.
In the past we stayed here with friends, a family with teenage kids, and this last time we stayed here with my parents. Young or old, everyone loved it. The location is simply perfect. Outside of San Ignacio to get the real jungle feel, but still not too far away to be completely isolated. The food, atmosphere and rooms are all wonderful. It feels like an oasis in an oasis.
You can take a tube (provided by the hotel) and tube down the river that runs around the property. Definitely highly recommended!" 2018 Trip Advisor
"We stayed at the parrots nest lodge for five nights and we couldn't ask for a better experience. Theo and her family are wonderful! We stayed in one of the tree houses. Every morning we awoke to sounds of birds singing outside our window. The area surrounding the lodge is gorgeous! We saw more wildlife while there then we did while taking tours through the jungle. Each evening we sat down with the rest of the guests for an unforgettable meal (Theo is one hell of a cook) and we shared stories of our 'adventures' that day." -onlyinalaska_10 Tripadvisor.com
5 star service in the middle of the jungle
"When we booked a jungle lodge for our trip, we were expecting a very simple 'step-up-from-camping' experience. However, Theo and Marcus blew us away with their warm and personal touch to making the stay for our family of four (with a baby) and our larger group of 17 extremely memorable. From unprompted helpful calls to taxis, to delicious dinners, to making tour tips and recommendations, to a special batch of hot chocolate for the kids in the group, it was as if we were staying with family. They were extremely accommodating of every ask, no matter what it was or what time of day it was, which is no small task for such a large group." 2018 Trip Advisor
